Strategies for a successful practicum experience

Tuesday 4 May 2021 7-8pm AEST

Stephanie Salazar

Practicum experiences can be rewarding yet challenging times. With university assignments due, lack of a social life, trying to balance family commitments and not enough information about the reality of pracs, the experience can seem quite isolating. By attending this session with Stephanie Salazar, pre-service teachers and their instructional leaders/practicum coordinators in schools will gain a range of practical strategies that can be implemented so that student teachers thrive during their practicum experiences.

Ms Salazar will share stories from her own pracs, including her biggest fails and how she overcame them, as well as strategies she has observed over 7 years as a classroom teacher and Instructional Leader, that allow pre-service teachers to succeed in this element of their training and use it to achieve temporary and permanent employment.
